Acacia comprises of a total of ten terrace houses situated in the heart of the multicultural, Market town of Northampton. The town is unique in cultural diversity and is home to many museums, parks, cultural project and leisure activities. From all our homes, there's easy access to the Town Centre and other nearby places of interest which cater to the varying needs of the diverse population. As far as possible, we offer the domestic setting of a usual family home. The houses are fully furnished consisting of a dining/sitting room, kitchen, utility room, bathroom, up to five bedrooms some with ensuites and backgardens which are secured by fencing.

 

Management & Staff

 

We are committed to delivering a high quality service. Our management and staff have a wealth of experience in supported housing with care for children and young adults. This experience covers years of working with local authorities including Northants, Solihull, Bedfordshire and Surrey in the areas of mental health, fostering, adoption and quality relations with minors and young people.

 

 

 

House Amenities 

Acacia prides itself on providing a homely environment for young people accessing our residential programme whilst they learn their independant living skills. While our properties vary slightly, each property comes equipped with identical amenities including:

  • Wifi in all areas of the house
  • Freeview television in the communal areas
  • Communal living spaces including dining, lounge and garden areas
  • Full and comfortable furnishings and kitchen appliances throughout the home including a washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave, oven, fridge freezer and lockable cupboards.
 

Our properties consist of between 3 and 4 young people sharing a house. The level of staffing is modified to the needs of our clients to ensure the care we provide meets the needs of each resident.

Young Care Leavers

 

 

ACACIA Consultants are dedicated to providing wholesome, supported accommodation for young people.

 

Our principle aim is to support young care leavers during the transitional period from leaving care to achieving independent living.

 

Acacia provides a safe, affordable home for young people where they are able to grow and overcome their personal difficulties and move forward to a brighter future.

 

We provide a unique service and a holistic approach. We have a team of fully qualified, professional and dedicated staff whose top priority is aim to treat young people as individuals.

 

Accommodation

​This comprises of 2-3 young people sharing a small house with a live in support worker who is on call 24 hours a day

 

Bedrooms

Bedrooms are fitted with locking doors, single bed, wardrobe and dressing table/chest of drawers, television with freeview.

 

Shared amenities

Shared bathroom / toilet and kitchen fitted with washing machine, dryer, cooker, microwave oven and fridge freezer.

 

Shared living room

Shared living room with cable TV, CD/DVD plus a telephone for incoming calls

 

Vocational Support

  • Our support extends to careers advice, training and education
  • Support and information on funding,
  • One-to-one action planning and monthly review updates
  • Counselling referrals, GP, Dentists and support group appointments
  • Social and independent living skills teaching

 

 

Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC) 

ACACIA Consultants provide positive support for unacommpanied minors & young people.

 

We are dedicated to supporting unaccompanied minors & young people. This is a tailored service, based on assessed personal needs. We aim to promote a sense of acceptance & well-being and a successful transition to protection from abuse and neglect. The list below is not exhaustive of the services that can be provided.

 

Quality Accommodation

Safe, warm, homely relaxed environments with individual bedroooms, study desks, TV room, well equipped kitchen with washing machine and white goods, wc / bathroom and gardens.

 

Meeting cultural & spiritual needs

  • Addressing cultural needs through the use of interpreters* and social / youth clubs
  • Mentoring and guidance
  • Professional counselling service

 

Social Care

  • Applications for social security benefits (over 18's)
  • Moving on (re-housing)
  • Assistance with tracing* family and friends
  • Registration with GP, dentists, opticians and other services
  • Schools / colleges, ESOL (English for speakers of other languages) and other subjects
  • Recreational / social activities

 

Individual, Sensitive & Valued Support

  • Social and independent living skills (shopping, budgeting, cooking balanced diets)
  • Adequate use of social and community facilities
  • Appropriate adult role model
  • Regular supporting meetings with local authorities
